Robert Boyd, PE

Principal, President

Robert Boyd knew from an early age that he wanted to be an electrical engineer.

He was fascinated by what electricity can do; how it travels from one place to another and how it makes things function. He brings this same passion to each of his projects, and thrives on tackling complicated design challenges.

A graduate of the University of California at Davis with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Bob has 40 years experience in the industry, including 33 years at Cammisa + Wipf. Early in his career Bob worked in the Installation and Service Engineering group at General Electric, installing, testing and maintaining electrical equipment. This foundation in the field side of the industry, plus his hands-on approach to each project, enable him to consistently create highly detailed, workable, sustainable designs.

Bob’s extensive experience includes designing complex electrical systems for large educational, healthcare and commercial facilities, as well as museums and science centers. He has managed numerous commercial and institutional projects, overseeing all the design requirements of those facilities. He joined Cammisa + Wipf in 1980 and has been a principal since 1985.

Bob is a professional member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).
